Description
The French-Spanish film L’Auberge Espagnole (2002) is a funny and very realistic depiction of the lives of a group of exchange students from all over Europe, who study in Barcelona and share the same apartment. The story is based on director Cédric Klapisch’s personal experience. The scenes, the dialogue, and the sets are just too realistic to have been made up: From the messy fridge to arguments over who’s next to clean the bathroom, to cultural clashes between the students, Klapisch pays close attention to detail in order to bring the movie to life. The film is a hilarious eye-opening lesson on how to live, love, laugh and party.
The screening will be followed by a short discussion by Dr claudia Sandberg from School of Languages and Lingustics- Program Leader in Latin American and European Cinemas.
